Next General Membership Meeting

Please join us at our June 11th General Membership Meeting at KYTC District 6. Marie Musial, PG, with Verdantas will present on an Introduction to Geophysics focusing on the use of geophysical methods in geotechnical problem solving.

Social time will begin at 11:30 AM at the KYTC District 6 office (421 Buttermilk Pike, Covington, KY 41017). The presentation will begin at noon. Lunch will be provided and one (1) hour of CPD credit will be available for those who attend the meeting (in-person only). The cost to attend is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Please RSVP via the link below by COB Tuesday, June 9th.

Marie Musial is a really cool geophysicist. She’s a project manager at Verdantas with more than ten years of experience, and someone who can move seamlessly between the field, the data, and explaining what it all means in a way that actually sounds like English, not jargon. She has an M.S. in Geological Science from the University of Kentucky, a B.S. in Geology from Northern Kentucky University, and is a licensed Professional Geologist in Kentucky. Marie is often called the “superstar” of the office. She can be out in the field running drilling and geophysical equipment, interpreting soils and rock in real time, then turn around and translate all of that into something clear and useful for engineers and project teams. Marie’s work focuses on applied geophysics, using tools like ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity, and seismic methods to better understand subsurface conditions and how they impact the projects we design and build. She has a natural ability to take concepts that can feel technical or abstract and make them practical and accessible. She also brings a level of energy and curiosity to her work that’s hard to miss. Whether she’s talking about soil conditions, subsurface anomalies, or how the ground behaves over time, there’s a clear sense that she enjoys figuring it out and sharing that understanding with others. Outside of work, Marie is just as dynamic. She and her husband have two kids, and much of their time is spent at Red River Gorge, where they’ve built out a property that includes climbing features. She’s an active rock climber and brings that same energy and humor into the office, which makes her a great teammate and someone people enjoy working alongside.
